120,000 Miles | 8.3-Liter Turbodiesel Inline-Six | Diesel | Allison Six-speed Automatic Transmission | 6-Month Warranty
This 2012 DynaQuest XL 390 motorhome is said to have been commissioned by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Indianapolis 500, and it was purchased by the seller in 2013. Built on a Freightliner M2 chassis by Dynamax of Elkhart, Indiana, the motorhome has a multi-tone paint scheme with Indianapolis 500 graphics. The floor plan features a lounge area with two sofas, a galley, a bathroom, and a rear bedroom. A Cummins 8.3-liter turbodiesel inline-six is paired with an Allison six-speed automatic transmission and a dually rear axle. Slide-outs are positioned on each side, and the motorhome is also outfitted with an Onan diesel-fueled generator, a camp-side awning, an outdoor TV, equipment compartments, and automatic leveling jacks. Amenities inside consist of tile floors, composite countertops, a refrigerator, and a convection microwave oven in addition to ducted climate control, two flatscreen TVs, a satellite antenna, and a Sony audio system with a subwoofer.
The body is finished in black and gray with Indianapolis 500 graphics. A power-operated awning is positioned on the camp side, and the triple slide-outs have toppers. The motorhome also has an automatic entry step, equipment bays, porch and docking lights, and sliding side windows. A Sony flatscreen TV and a sound bar are housed in a dedicated compartment, and other equipment includes a satellite antenna, a keyless-entry security keypad, and a receiver hitch. The equipment bay weatherstripping was replaced in 2024, and the satellite system was updated at that time. The seller notes that the awning wind detection system does not work, the protective film on the driver’s entry step is peeling, and a portion of the protective film on the hood has been removed. A scrape is present on the rear panel, and stone chips are evident on the front fascia and wheel arch flares. Bubbling is noted on the TV frame and entry grab handle. The seller states that the Hartman Motorsports decals will be removed before ownership is transferred.
Polished 22.5″ aluminum wheels wear 275/80 Michelin tires. The seller tells us that the front tires were installed in 2020, while the rear tires were mounted in 2021. Stopping power is provided by air-actuated brakes, and the coach is also equipped with a Jacobs brake, an HWH automatic leveling system, and a Freightliner AirLiner air-adjustable rear suspension. An Onan 8kW diesel-fueled generator is secured in an equipment bay and has accumulated approximately 1,600 operating hours. Additional infrastructure equipment includes holding tanks, power-operated freshwater hose and shore power cord reels, and connections for water, waste disposal, and 50-amp electrical service. The house batteries and inverter were replaced in 2023, per the seller.
The cab houses swiveling air-suspension seats trimmed in black vinyl with Indianapolis 500 embroidery on the headrests. Woodgrain trim accents the dash, and other features include air conditioning, power windows and locks, cruise control, navigation, and a reverse-view camera. Instrumentation includes a 90-mph speedometer, a 3k-rpm tachometer, and supplementary gauges, while accessory control panels are centrally mounted. A trailer brake controller is fitted beneath the dash. The digital odometer indicates 120k miles, approximately 114k of which were added under current ownership.
The living quarters have a 7′ ceiling height and are outfitted with tile floors, recessed lighting, cherry wood storage cabinets, ducted climate control, dual air conditioners, a furnace, and three ceiling vents. The forward lounge houses an expandable sofa with retractable footrests, a jackknife sofa bed, and an entertainment center with a 55″ flatscreen TV, a Sony audio-video amplifier, a DVD player, a sound bar, and a subwoofer. The galley is equipped with a composite countertop, an expandable wing cabinet, a double-basin sink, and a pantry as well as a demand-service water heater, a convection microwave oven, an electric cooktop, and a residential-style refrigerator. Leather curtains have been added on both ends of the hallway that leads to the bathroom.
The rear bedroom is furnished with a queen bed, built-in nightstands, under-bed storage, and a hanger closet. A flatscreen TV is mounted atop the built-in dresser, and a mirror etched with Indianapolis 500 graphics is on the rear wall. The adjacent bathroom has a shower, a skylight, a macerator toilet, and a vanity with a sink. The Cummins ISC 8.3-liter turbodiesel inline-six was factory rated at 350 horsepower and 1,000 lb-ft of torque, and it is equipped with an engine block heater and dual 50-gallon fuel tanks. The motorhome is equipped with a dually rear axle, and power is routed to the rear wheels via an Allison six-speed automatic transmission.
